Portability Overview A General Look At Portability
What's a PortableApp?

PortableApps USBs A PortableApp is a computer program that you can carry around with you on a portable device and use on any Windows computer. When your USB flash drive, portable hard drive, iPod or other portable device is plugged in, you have access to your software and personal data just as you would on your own PC. And when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind. From a technical point of view this means that the App is not “installed” in the usual Windows sense. All of the App’s data (e.g. your personal settings for the App) are stored only with the App, usually within the App’s folder. If you put the App’s folder onto your USB stick, then all that data will be carried with you on the stick.
